Whether we like it or not, summer is over and it's time for school. Today was Logan's 1st day of 2nd grade and I seriously can't believe it.... so weird. He had a great first day... one of his best friends is in his class and he really likes his new teacher! Here's to another fun year of reading, writing and arithmetic!

A way to journal some things you have done or not done in your life. All you have to do is copy the list and bold what you have done. (Select the list, CTRL-C copies it, CTRL-V pastes it into your blog, select the list and CTRL-B bolds everything, then do CTRL-B again and everything will be un-bolded and ready for you to play.) Sacrament Meeting Part 2
My friend Randi kindly reminded me about Hailey's episode in Sacrament Meeting the same day... we have no idea what she was doing, but all of a sudden, she fell off her chair, flat on her face and bit her tongue in the process... kids!

Our Little Runaway
Today, we were sitting in the "overflow" during sacrament meeting and Hudson kept trying to 'escape' so he could run behind the rows of chairs in the gym behind us, (which just so happens to have wood floors, not carpet). We were able to keep him contained for most of the meeting until he snuck by Rob's leg and was a free man. He started running back towards the stage, so Rob looked at me and said we had to play "Rock Paper Scissors" to see who would have to go get him....(we play 'best out of three'). Well, the game took a little longer than usual because we kept tying, but right as I lost to Rob's ROCK, I looked up and saw Hudson pulling himself up onto the piano bench about to perform his concerto. I ran (as reverently and as fast as I could) before he could make too much of a scene, but it was too late. The damage was done and as I looked back at the congregation, there were many people looking back at us laughing. Ya, it was pretty embarrassing. Then after church, a member of the bishopric came up to me and told me how impressed he was at how fast I could run in high heels... nice.

Spokane Valley cops don't quit!
Cops are pigs. Don't they have anything better to do than sit on the side of the road for hours on end, waiting for someone to drive by going 5+ over the speed limit?!?! Apparently not in Spokane Valley... My one and only speeding ticket I ever got, was my junior year of high school and it was on "80's Day" during Homecoming Spirit Week... I was able to understand that he would give me a ticket for dressing that way... but this time, I was just driving to Hailey's dentist appt., the kids were watching a movie and he pulled me over and gave me a ticket for going 6 over the speed limit! No warning or anything! I need to take a class on "how to get out of a ticket"! I want to punch that cop.

Matilda

Why I love this movie:
The best one liners of any movie, save Napoleon Dynamite. "Listen you little wise acre! I'm smart, you're dumb. I'm big, you're little. I'm right, you're wrong, and there's nothin' you can do about it."
Danny DeVito and Rhea Pearlman... LOL
Ms. Trunchbull: "Use the rod, beat the child, that's my motto."
The chocolate cake part. I think it cured me of my never-ending craving for the All-American Chocolate Cake from Costco.
It makes my kids realize that I'm not THAT mean of a mom, after all.
If you haven't seen this movie yet, I highly recommend it.
